I decided to start this blog today. This site seems like a great place. There are a lot of great people here. But this site, just like everything else in life, jsut confirms to me that I am a huge freak. If you read my profile, or if you talk to me, you’ll probably get the idea. At this particular time, it looks as though the press is finally veering away from scrutinizing Nadja Suleman, better known in our culture now as 'the octomom'. Do I envy her? Fourteen kids? Hell no. Do I pity her? No - she wanted all those kids, and she knew exactly what she was doing so let's not blame it all on her doctors. Do I wish her any ill? Exene's Blog 'I Am Childless' Doesn't Mean 'I Don't Like Kids'

When people ask me if I have children and I answer honestly ('no'), I think they assume that I must not like kids, or that I have some physical health condition. I do not appreciate the looks of pity I receive; I also don't feel like people with children even want to associate themselves with adults who do not have them. That can be understandable - but I don't think people who decide to have children are necessarily better people than those who opt not to have them. My second sister (there are three)... No comments

Exene's Blog I Wouldn't Have A Child Now

My time for having a child is pretty much over, and I am okay with that. Even if 'Mr. Right' were to suddenly appear in my life and we wound up getting married, there would have to be an understanding that I have no plans to get pregnant. I don't know how many menstrual years I have left; but starting last winter the cycle sometimes 'goes off' and I think it would be unwise for me to try and have a baby. Both my mother and my grandmother had hysterectomies; my mother had a lot of kids but my grandmother... No comments

So one of my sisters decided she would have a baby before she turned 30... she did that, but I frown on her lifestyle with her child. I don't blame my lovely niece at all; I know none of it is her fault. But my sisiter doesn't work, and she still lives at home with my parents. I have decided to start this blogpage because I don't have any kids and sometimes it can feel very isolating and lonely. There is such a pressure out there; everybody's got to have a child or else 'what the hell is the matter with you?' I don't think anything is the matter with me; I never found a man that I could have children with and I don't have a lot of money.
